Congresbury Library and Yeo Valley and Rural Outreach Children's Centre

This consultations is now closed. You can read the report of the results of the consultation for Congresbury.

You can also read the report recommending next steps. This report was published on 28 November 2016, for the council’s Executive to consider at their meeting on 6th December 2016.

For the record, the consultation asked...

What do you think about the options for how we provide services through Congresbury Library and Yeo Valley and Rural Outreach Children's Centre?

This consultation is part of the 'Community Access Review' (CAR). CAR is a major review of the buildings and services we run in the community with particular focus on our 14 children’s centres and 12 libraries.

As two of our most highly used services by residents we need to ensure the buildings and services are fit for purpose and located in the right place for their local communities, cost effective and equipped to deal with the demands of new technology and future needs.

This review is about ensuring we retain, and where we can, improve these services in our communities, rather than lose them as is happening in some other parts of the country.

All materials in the consultation are designed to be accessible to all. If you do need any of the materials in a different format, contact us on 01275 888 802 or by email.

The consultation asks you to comment on options we have identified for Congresbury. These are outlined in the background reading and consultation questionnaires (see below).

This consultation does not ask you to 'vote' for your preferred option, but asks you to say what impact the various options would have on you and when you would like to access the services, so we can try to take this into account when deciding which option to implement. There is also an opportunity for you to give us your ideas.

We welcome responses from everyone. You can respond either a) as an individual or b) giving the official response on behalf of an organisation (using the links below).

We are consulting on the CAR proposals area by area. This webpage and this consultation relates to the review for Congresbury. You can see which area consultations are happening on our CAR information page.

The CAR involves financial, legal and many other important considerations. We are not repeating all the information on this webpage but, before you respond to this consultation, please find out about the aims and the context of the CAR in Congresbury, as agreed by the council (at the Executive meeting in June). All of this is relevant, although the section specifically about Congresbury is on pages 25-28 of that document.

We are holding two public engagement sessions about the Congresbury options in September. Please email us to say which session you want to come to, so we can gauge the numbers. All are welcome.

Monday 5 September 2016. 2pm or 7pm.

Congresbury Methodist Hall, High Street, BS49 5JA.
