Context for this consultation The current policy was introduced in 2008 and reviewed in 2010. The Licensing Authority are aware that some of the content needs updating to ensure compliance with legislative changes and the wording is overcomplicated. Applicants have previously been required to follow a long and sometimes over bureaucratic process for what may be a single one-day event. To support local events, smaller scale businesses and to encourage more diverse activity across the district whilst ensuring public safety, the policy has been reviewed and revised.
