[Complete]Draft Housing Strategy 2010-2026
In December 2009 and January 2010 we asked people what they thought about our Draft Housing Strategy 2010-2026.
You can read the results of this consultation (pdf, May 2010, 25Kb) as well as read the Draft Strategy (pdf, Dec 2009, 337Kb) and see the online questionnaire.
This draft strategy was produced, as a rough draft, after an initial consultation on the themes and priorities included within it to reflect the views of our North Somerset councillors, council colleagues, partners and the residents of North Somerset. We asked for feedback on this document to ensure that it is a dynamic document that will help us to deliver real improvements in housing and housing related support services to meet the needs of our communities.
To ensure we reached a variety of people with this consultation, we held public displays, taking the Strategy to a range of forums, as well as the Adult Social Service and Housing Scrutiny Panel and the Health and Wellbeing Board.
The North Somerset Core Strategy Consultation Draft is also currently being consulted upon. This Strategy outlines the main areas of development in North Somerset up until 2026 and sets out policies to control development, whilst aiming to ensure a balance of houses, jobs and facilities and the protection of important buildings, places, countryside and wildlife.
A series of 'meet your planner' events was held, where everyone was welcome to come along and talk to planning officers. Copies of the Draft Housing Strategy 2010-2026 were available at these events, held at the following locations:
